Almost all of the tracks featured on this compilation were released in the first years of the pandemic. For me, they speak of new connections and friendships established during those disorienting years, and the spectrum of emotional and creative responses that people had to all the changes. The tracks here come from places far and wide; British Columbia, California, Utah, Ontario, Quebec, England, Malta, and Japan, but somehow unimaginably, we all seemed to be going through more or less the same things during this time. This feels like the right time to be sharing this collection of pieces, united not by style but by the shared experience sitting below the surface of the pieces, like a fungal network tying them together.
