Two years ago, while visiting some friends in LA, I heard about a local legend who lived on the beach in Malibu and gave out tapes of his music to anyone interested. I was able to get his email, and told him I'd be interested in putting out a collection of his songs on Ur... he asked for my address in Toronto, and a couple months later I received this album in the mail - I think, all recorded straight to cassette in one night, apparently in the last night in his empty home, as he was being evicted. I haven't heard from him since, and his email has been deactivated. If anyone knows what's happened to Doug, please let me know.
